Why We Want You: We are looking for a volunteer who can contribute to RSPB operations support at the Reserve Office in Exminster. If you are keen to play your part in helping conserve nature by contributing to operational support, we would love to utilize your organising, sorting and record updating skills to support the Reserve team and administrator. Do you have the time and flexibility to work at our Reserve Office in Exminster up to 2-3 times a month?

What You Will Be Doing: As a valued volunteer, you will be involved in a variety of tasks, tailored to your skills and interests, there are a range of tasks that need doing, here is a sample:

  • Logging and Updating Asset Register: crucial in managing our equipment effectively. This involves logging and updating our asset register to ensure the proper management of equipment and involves using SharePoint to organize information and uploading photos of our stored equipment, contributing to efficient record-keeping (training and support will be given).

  • Sorting and detailing optics held by the reserve: to facilitate the clearance of old or broken items

  • Assistance in reviewing and decision making with historical paper records:

  • Flexible Hours: The role offers flexibility, requiring 2-3 days a month, which can be split into a half day every week or one full day every other week. We do require these to be during office hours as the tasks involved require someone to be at the Exminster reserve office.

Skills You Need:

  • Organized and Computer Literate: We are looking for someone with excellent organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

  • Good Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail is crucial, ensuring accuracy in logging and updating our asset register.
