Café Volunteer (Café Team Volunteer - Suitable for Under 18s)
Do you enjoy meeting new people or would like to gain experience in catering and hospitality? We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to help run the popular and welcoming café at the RSPB in Saltholme.
As a Café Volunteer, you’ll work in a fast-paced and lively environment, particularly during busy periods. You’ll be part of a supportive team helping to ensure visitors receive a warm welcome, quick service, and can enjoy their food and drinks in a clean, safe, and relaxed setting. Our café at Saltholme simply couldn’t run without volunteers.
What you’ll be doing:
- Serving customers hot and cold drinks and food in a busy café
- Cleaning is a big part of this role, including clearing tables, washing up, and keeping the café clean and tidy throughout the day
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene and following health and safety procedures
- Talking to visitors about our food and drink options
- Helping visitors find seating and answering questions
Time commitment:
- Volunteers work on a rota to cover the needs of the site. This could be from just a few hours a week.
