Species Protection (Wildflower Volunteer- ORKNEY)

Opportunity image

Species on the Edge and the RSPB are looking for volunteers to improve Orkney's wildflowers for pollinators! Orkney has lots of amazing wildflowers, but we're trying to expand their range.

As a member of the wildflower group, you'd be helping with things like planting wildflowers, collecting seeds, creating wildflower nurseries, and advocating to make Orkney a better place for pollinators,

For Summer 2026, we'll be planting plug plants in verges in various towns around the Orkney mainland on some evenings and weekends. This is likely to be Wednesdays and Sundays. We'll let you know exact dates once you've applied.

This group is for anyone of any experience level. Just want to show up and learn as you go? No problem! Already know tons about wildflowers? Come share your knowledge and maybe you can help plan the best ways to grow them!

This opportunity is for ages 11+, though we ask that anyone under the age of 16 is accompanied by an adult.

For any questions, please email helen.cromarty@rspb.org.uk or parker.hansen@rspb.org.uk.
