Event Helper (Roving Ranger Titchwell Marsh)
Do you enjoy meeting people and sharing your passion of the natural world with them? Are you a confident communicator and inspiring story teller? Do you have sound knowledge of the wildlife and history of Titchwell Marsh reserve?
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who can support our suite of wildlife interpretation on the reserve by engaging with visitors and helping them have a positive and memorable experience. We want to inspire people about the work of the RSPB by showcasing our amazing habitats and wildlife so that they will work with us to save nature.
As a Roving Ranger, your tasks will include some of the following:
- Be our ambassador on the ground; friendly and knowledgeable and willing to help.
- Talk to the public about the work of the RSPB, what we're all about and asking them if they would like to become members if the conversation takes you there.
- Report any immediate hazards or incidents that need attention to the Duty Manager
- Call in sightings of wildlife to the Meet and Greet team in a timely and efficient manner
- Share the history of Titchwell reserve and current conservation management projects with our visitors
We are looking for someone who enjoys meeting new people and is a confident communicator. Strong people skills and the ability to converse with visitors at all levels of interest, knowledge and ability is essential. A friendly face and welcoming smile is a definite requirement.
