Why we want you.

We need you to help make a difference! RSPB Dungeness aim to always deliver first class customer care with our warm welcome and infectious enthusiasm. We also provide an outstanding home for wildlife and give our visitors the information they need to enjoy their visit, including about our coffee and snacks! We need you to pro-actively assist visitors in finding the right products for them and explain what makes our products special. Other duties include general housekeeping, membership promotion and supporting the welcome desk team.

The skills you need

• An infectious enthusiasm for nature and its conservation.

• To be friendly, approachable and enjoy working in a team.

• The confidence to initiate conversations with the public and communicate with visitors from all walks of life with differing knowledge and interest.

• Confident in maximizing profits for our conservation work via the promotion of offers, products and loyalty card.

• The ability to listen and respond appropriately.

• You need to be confident in handling money accurately.

• Adaptability and a willingness to learn.

• You must be willing to support our Dungeness visitor welcome system.

• The ability to inspire visitors to give nature a home where they live.

• An awareness of Health and Safety.

• Basic computer skills are needed for operation of the tills.

All background information, uniform and training will be provided. Travel expenses can be reimbursed (up to a 25 mile radius)

We are looking for a couple of volunteers who can help support our team on a casual as needed basis, so someone who is flexible with their time would be ideal and available over weekends.
