Event Helper (Creative People!)
Are you creative and enthusiastic? We're looking for creative people- craft-lovers, face painters, storytellers, puppeteers, actors who can help at our events. You could have these skills already or come with bags of enthusiasm and willingness to learn/ give it a go!
As part of our Lottery Project, we have had lantern trails and art festivals as a different and exciting way for the local community to discover their local nature reserve. These have been a big success, and we're keen to continue these fantastic events.
So, we're looking for creative and enthusiastic people to join our volunteer team. In this role, you might:
Help lead craft workshops for families/ at community groups
Design and create sculptures/ costumes/ pieces for art for events
Could help on the day, puppeteering sculptures or in character
Share your ideas for crafts/ artwork during events
Face paint at events
Interact with visitors of all ages
This role would involve occasional volunteering in the run up to events and at events themselves, including some evening and weekends, flexible to fit around your life style. You would be in a pool of events volunteers who between them cover our events programme. We currently do art/ lantern trails twice a year, with the next one in October. You would know at least a month in advance about events, would have an event plan, and could help with planning and ideas.
This role would be suitable for 16-18 year olds and families (adults and children volunteering together).
The RSPB is committed to making our organisation diverse and inclusive, and, as such, are keen to encourage applications from everyone, of all ethnic backgrounds, as well as those with disabilities.
We look forward to hearing from you!
