Event Helper (Royal Highland Show RSPB stand)

We are looking for enthusiastic and outgoing volunteers to join our team at this year's Royal Highland Show at Ingliston from Thursday 23rd to Sunday 26th June 2022. We will be inspiring visitors with our work for Scottish wildlife and helping families take part in a range of activities based on our RSPB Nature on Your Doorstep campaign and the partnership Scottish Environment LINK agriculture campaign. It would also be great if you can also help visitors find the pin badges they want from our stocks.

As an Events Volunteer you will be helping out in a range of ways which will include some of the following:

• Providing a friendly welcome to visitors and members of the public.
• Having conversations with visitors and members of the public, and finding out how you can help them.
• Talking to the public about the work of the RSPB, what we're all about.
• Participating in event reviews and providing constructive feedback.

For this role most important skill required will be your people skills. We aren't looking for wildlife expertise of knowledge of the RSPB. We are looking for someone who enjoys meeting new people and is a confident communicator especially with children. It will help if you have a good attention to detail and are quite organised to help ensure events and activities are carried out safely.
