Site Checks and Maintenance Volunteer (Sherwood Forest Roving Patrol)
Sherwood Forest & Budby Visitor Centre attracts thousands of visitors throughout the year. We are keen to always ensure that the site is well maintained and looking at its very best. We are looking for a team of volunteers with an ‘eye for detail’ who will check the path network and act as the ‘face of the RSPB’
As a roving patroller you will enjoy spending most of your time out alone walking the pathways and carrying out various tasks along the way, such as:
• Litter picking
• Checking for hazards
• Engaging positively with visitors
• Reporting back after each patrol
• Other tasks as required
• Being an ambassador for the RSPB and the site
We will ensure you are set up with the tools and any training required to comfortably carry out your role.
Beneficial skills for this role are:
• Enjoy being outdoors
• Reasonable fitness level
• Good people skills
• Basic IT skills
• Ability to work independently
This is a rewarding and enjoyable role. You will be making a real difference as part of a friendly team of staff and volunteers.
This is a chance to use your skills and enjoyment of the outdoors for the benefit of the site, whilst also making a genuine contribution to wildlife conservation and the environment.
