Are you looking for the chance to develop your skills in conservation communication? Do you want to learn more about native wildlife? Do you want the chance to live in the heart of Caledonian pine forest with mountains on your doorstep? We are looking for someone to support our team with visitor experience until the end of our season in September. We are looking for a candidate to start immediately.

We are looking for friendly people who love nature and can pass that passion on to others. We want someone who can work as part of a close-knit team and be adaptable to life on the reserve. Volunteering with the Nature Centre team during the season will train you to engage and enthuse the public about our local wildlife. The position will train you to lead guided walks, interact with the public through multiple media channels and provide you with experience in promoting membership for the RSPB. You will also learn to run events and give presentations on our conservation goals. Extra training on reserve will also allow opportunities to develop skills in practical conservation too. This role will give you the confidence and experience to develop a career in conservation.

As a long-term volunteer, you will be an essential part of our friendly, passionate and knowledgeable team. Our goal is to inspire every visitor to connect and engage with wildlife and ultimately support the work of the RSPB to save nature. This is a unique opportunity to spend some time in the heart of the Abernethy forest, learn a huge amount about the wildlife and experience life in one of the UK’s last great wildernesses.

Accommodation is provided and bicycles are also available to explore the area. A valid driving licence is preferable but not essential.
