Availability:

This role can be flexible to your availability, and requires around 1 day of work a week maximum. Work-load depends on time of year also, getting busier either side of the breeding season (April-June).

About the project:

Annual surveys are conducted on farmland in the Forest of Bowland to monitor numbers of wading birds breeding each year. This important work is done by a dedicated team of 70 volunteers, one existing volunteer coordinator and a small team of RSPB staff. This is a chance to gain experience in working with people of all ages and to learn new skills and develop existing ones. You will be part of a small and friendly team of staff and volunteers.

You'd be making a real difference by helping us engage more with the communities, and support the project officer in the running of the project. This role will not only be home/office based, but will spend time outdoors during the breeding season (April-June) and may be involved in the bird surveys and wildlife monitoring.

There is room for development within the role and can be flexible to your availability.

You'd be helping us to ensure that volunteers have a rewarding and enjoyable time with us. It's a wonderful opportunity to make a genuine contribution to wildlife conservation.
