RSPB Team Member (Internal Communications Assistant)
Are you passionate about playing your part in ending the nature and climate emergency?
Do you want to develop your communication skills in a leading conservation charity?
YES?
Then we have an amazing RSPB volunteering opportunity for you!
We’re looking for a Volunteer Internal Communications Assistant who can offer a regular time commitment.
You’ll be part of a welcoming, supportive, and fun team. We mainly work from home so you can be based anywhere in the UK - we’ll provide the laptop. Occasionally we get together face to face for team gatherings. Which of course you’ll be welcome to attend (all travel costs will be reimbursed.)
We’ll provide any relevant training that you need, and you’ll help with activities like:
- Writing and editing stories for our internal communications channels
- Publishing content on our intranet (SharePoint)
- Supporting the team to plan and deliver internal communication activities
- Helping with administrative support
You’ll be…
- An enthusiastic communicator, keen to develop your skills
- Confident with technology and eager to learn more
- Someone with experience of using Microsoft Office (if you’ve used platforms like Teams or Zoom that would be ideal)
- Well organised and love working with others as part of a busy team
- Interested in nature - but you don’t need to be an expert!
What's in it for you?
Along with the buzz you’ll get from doing your bit for nature, you’ll get:
- A bunch of new friends and a welcoming team environment
- A chance to develop your knowledge and experience
- The opportunity to volunteer for RSPB (one of the leading environmental charities)
- Regular team support and 1:1 meetings
- Access to RSPB’s wellbeing support programme, affinity groups and online training courses
If you have any questions before you apply, please email melanie.bryer@rspb.org.uk
We are committed to developing an inclusive and diverse RSPB, in which everyone feels supported, valued, and able to be their full selves. To achieve our vision of creating a world richer in nature, we need more people, and more diverse people, on nature’s side. People of colour and disabled people are currently underrepresented across the environment, climate, sustainability, and conservation sector. If you identify as a person of colour and/or disabled, we are particularly interested in receiving your application.
