Specialist/Expert Volunteer (Digital Analyst)
We are looking for volunteers with specialist skills to join some of our teams and help grow our capacity.
This role sits within the Digital Products team, which is the team accountable for the performance of digital communication products, such as our website, social media channels and email communication. Working very closely with our Digital Product Owners, Online Content team, User Experience Researchers and our Digital Business Data Unit, our Digital Analyst, will be a go-to person for audience and performance-related data for all our digital products, enabling Business Owners to make decisions based on insights to prioritise efforts to improve or maintain performance and deliver positive contribution towards or Technology and Communication objectives. You will also be actively involved in the digital data collection process for all digital products, data analysis and modelling. Helping the teams to use data to inform key business decisions.
We're looking for volunteers who can get involved in: • Working across multiple data sets to support digital and communication colleagues with analysis and liaising with stakeholders across the wider business • Understanding product opportunities, problems, and potential test-and-learn initiatives • Providing actionable insights and recommendations, clearly quantifying the size of opportunities to help support business cases for improvement/prioritisation or further testing/analysis • Using both quantitative and qualitative data to build a complete, contextual picture of the performance of our digital products • Proactively identifying data issues, collaborating with the analytics, technical and technology teams to troubleshoot and solve problems in site tagging, implementation and data quality • Maintaining the key analytical platforms including Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics • Reporting, visualising and presenting data in a clear and easy-to-understand way to help with data-driven decisions
What we’re looking for in our Digital Analyst: • Strong skills with Google Analytics • The ability to query Google Analytics data sets using Google Big Query (SQL) for advanced analysis, with an understanding of how to use data and analytics for solving problems • Hands-on experience in managing tags, triggers and custom variables in Google Tag Manager • Confident and engaging communicator who has experience communicating findings and recommendations in a clear and effective manner using visual reporting tools and dashboards - Google Data Studio and Power Bi preferred • Evidence of a proactive approach to self-improvement and learning to keep up with the industry • Excellent attention to detail, planning, organisation and project management skills
