Do you enjoy meeting people and being part of events? RSPB NI is showcasing its work at the Balmoral Show, Northern Ireland's largest agri-food event, and we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who can help the coordination of our renowned pin badge operations. This role is suitable for under 18’s and offers the opportunity to meet new people and gain new skills in fundraising and communication to a wide audience.
RSPB NI is proud to join such a large event and inspiring people about the natural world is one of the most important things we do. We want to engage as many people as possible about the work of the RSPB, how amazing nature is and how we need to work together to save it.
As Pin Badge Fundraising Helper you will support the staff at the marquee in a range of ways. The role would involve activities like:
- Providing a friendly welcome to visitors and members of the public.
- Having conversations with visitors and members of the public, and promoting our current fundraising activities and boosting recruitment of pin badge fundraisers and bucket collectors.
- Talking to the public about the work of the RSPB, what we're all about and inspiring them to do their bit to help nature around them.
- Resolving supporters' requests for a specific pin badge design in stock and banking cash earnings at the end of your activity each day and process contactless transactions.
- Ensuring the event stand is clean and tidy, leaflets are replenished and information and pin badge boards are up to date.
- Supporting staff members involved in activities for engagement from children to adults.
All training and equipment will be provided for each day. Lifts and public transport arrangements to site can be agreed with opportunity manager, although access to a private vehicle is helpful. Travel expenses are refundable and ticket for the event is provided. You will have the opportunity to join a successful fundraising activity led by RSPB for more than 20 years and become part of an ambitious network of volunteers that spread RSPB's message in their local community.
Shifts and availability can be booked using the slots provided. The opportunity manager is more than happy to agree changes to times provided. These can be subject to change due to event ticket availability and arrangements.
