RSPB Team Member (Wild Challenge Ambassador)
Do you love the natural world and want to share it with others? Are you keen to share new ways for people to engage with nature?
We are looking for someone in the **Edinburgh and Lothians area **interested in supporting children, parents and teachers to achieve our Wild Challenge Awards.
The RSPB Wild Challenge Award is an online resource that provides a range of hands-on nature-based activities to encourage families, schools and communities to connect to and help nature. We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic individuals to take on the role of RSPB Wild Challenge Ambassadors and help people to get the most out of their Wild Challenge journey.
In this role you will be responsible for: • Encouraging the participation of Wild Challenge Award activities to young people, families and schools. • Supporting teachers, community group leaders and families to register and guide them through delivery. • Working with teachers, families and community group leaders to create a Wild Challenge journey that works for them. • Creating promotional content and sharing this through local communications channels. • Maintaining records of engagement with different audiences.

As this role looks to engage communities, schools and families, we are looking for someone who is: • Friendly and enthusiastic • Confident in engaging with different audiences • Interested in wildlife and is keen to share ways of engaging with nature with others • An excellent communicator (both written and verbally) with teachers, members of the public and children of differing needs and levels of understanding • Resourceful and flexible to be able to cope with a wide variety of ages and abilities • An enthusiasm and willingness to learn new skills • Able to work as part of a busy team and independently as required • Organised and computer literate

All training necessary and background information will be provided and travel expenses will be reimbursed.
