RSPB Team Member (Volunteer Social Media Moderators (out of hours, remote/home-based))
We have several volunteering opportunities available to support the RSPB’s UK social media team with out of hours (evening and weekend) social media moderation.
This role is responsible for moderating our social channels and advocating the personality of our brand on social platforms. You will be the conversational social personality of our channels and responsible for actively engaging with the online community to connect with potential audiences and engage them with our work.
We are looking for someone who enjoys interacting with people, has great customer service skills, a passion for species and nature, and can moderate our online community with sincerity, humour and accuracy. Your day-to-day tasks could include identifying species, handling complaints, and ensuring that the conversations surrounding our content and online communities are polite and civil.
You will be supported by the Social Media Community Moderator and wider social team so that you can act as the voice of the brand when interacting with supporters across our channels.
Experience with social media moderation is great, but not essential – training can be provided.
Species knowledge highly beneficial, but not essential.
Responsibilities:
- Moderate our social media channels, pro-actively interacting across all channels, responding to comments and audience queries in a timely manner.
- Be the conversational voice of our brand and help make RSPB a leader in the advocacy of nature social conversation.
- Ensure conversations linked to our activities remains civil and on-topic.
- Report back to the team any useful insights from our audience’s response.
