Community Volunteer (RSPB Dungeness)

As a Community Volunteer you’ll be able to provide others with advice and guidance about local spaces for enjoying nature and wildlife. By sharing your passion, enthusiasm for creating a wildlife friendly space, you’ll be supporting others to help save nature. Suitable for under 18’s.

As part of this role you will be publicising yourself as an RSPB contact in your local community by sharing your knowledge and advice on wildlife as well as doing some of the following:

  • Putting posters and leaflets in local facilities such as libraries and online forums

  • Coordinating with your local RSPB nature reserve (RSPB Dungeness)

  • Promoting your local reserves and any events, news or recent wildlife sightings

  • Writing blogs about local wildlife stories

  • Providing advice and guidance about local spaces for enjoying nature and wildlife

  • Giving talks to local groups and participating and representing the RSPB at community events

  • Building rapport with local business or social groups

  • Helping with wider promotion or campaigns of the RSPB

This role provides a brilliant opportunity to share with others in your local community your knowledge of local wildlife hotspots, nature walks, and gardening for wildlife tips. The satisfaction of inspiring and guiding others on how to help save nature. It also provides an opportunity to get to know other members in your community, create new networks and have shared experiences.

Of course, any advice you give will reflect the RSPB, so we’ll provide you with all the information, knowledge and appropriate training.
