Administrator (HR Support Volunteer - at home or at The Lodge)
12 months
The HR Hub Team provide a critical role to the whole organisation and the people within in it. All new staff contracts, changes and administration go through this team. This team is crucial in making sure all staff are employed compliantly and efficiently and provide a service to line managers, getting new staff onboard and dealing with their HR admin requirements.
• Supporting a member of the HR Hub team • Processing changes on the HR system • Issuing documentation including confirmation of changes, contracts when required • Processing references • Filing of employee records on the electronic system • General administrator tasks such as filing, looking up information
As part of this key team supporting the organisation, we will offer you training (with members of our Hub Team) over Teams or potentially face to face at The Lodge on the processes and activities so that you can form an active part of the team. You will need to undertake the RSPB’s GDPR and Information Systems compliance training online.
You can do this role from your own home (as long as it’s a confidential environment) or you can volunteer face to face with one or two of our team members in the delightful surroundings of the Lodge HQ. We are a flexible working team (working a range of part time hours) and would be happy for you to do the same from Monday to Friday (although this may need to be dependent on our staff availability for training).
Ideally you will be able to commit to volunteering 1 or 2 days a week for us for 12 months and during that time we will give you training so that by the end of the year you will have carried out/or supported with all of the HR administration that we do. Should you want to continue beyond that we would love to have you! We will include you in our team meetings both online (weekly) and face to face (a few times a year).
If you are looking to get into the HR world, then this will give you a great insight into the variety of work an HR administration team undertake. If you are experienced in HR admin then we would be thrilled to have your support and experience as we review our admin processes as we plan for a new service management system.
We need someone that is highly organised and has the ability to juggle many tasks. You will have proven IT and organisational skills and experience of following processes. An understanding of the importance of handling confidential information in an accurate and timely manner is also essential. You will be a team player who is good at communicating and is happy to work as part of an established Team who work from home with variable and flexible hours.
If you have the skills and enthusiasm for confidential admin tasks then we want to hear from you. Come and talk to us to see how we can work together and help each other – we are always happy to make reasonable adjustments to help support you as a volunteer.
Volunteer for the HR Hub team and become part of a critical team that supports the whole organisation saving nature on the ground!
