**RSPB South East Essex Local Group

Fundraising Co-ordinator.**

Fund Raising is a key function of the Local Group and all monies raised are sent to the RSPB to enable them to continue the conservation work done in the UK and around the world.

Since the RSPB South East Essex Local Group’s inception in September 1983 the LG members have raised thousands of pounds towards this goal.

Historically fundraising was achieved by public engagement through jumble sales, quiz nights and stalls at local fetes and fairs and latterly with coffee mornings held at the WI Hall at Rochford and coach trips. Now the only source of funds is the 100 Club and Zoom donations from LG members.

A new LG (local group) Fundraising Co-Ordinator does not need any knowledge of wildlife.

**As Fundraising Co-Ordinator you will need: ** To find and book venues where there is a lot of public foot fall for coffee mornings once, possibly twice, a year. To do the above well in advance so that the dates can be entered into the newsletter distributed in August each year. To investigate the possibility of a stall at local events. To arrange tin shakes at local supermarkets. To co-ordinate rotas of LG member volunteers to attend these events. To be prepared to sell suitable donated goods on eBay or Facebook Market Place To liaise with the Group Leader to advertise these events.

**The skills you need: ** To have good interpersonal and communication skills, To be numerate and able to keep accurate records, To be computer literate with internet and email access, To be friendly and open with the ability to delegate and the enthusiasm to motivate others, To understand the principles of General Data Protection Regulations, To attend LG Committee meetings held once or twice a year.

Are you the person to fulfil this role or do you know someone who could? Full support would be provided to anyone who volunteers for as long as necessary.
