This taster day is an excellent opportunity to get a sense of the practical habitat management work that our regular volunteers carry out, and a great chance to get outdoors in some wild and wonderful spaces! The RSPB Belfast Harbour Reserves are home to some of our most spectacular species in Northern Ireland, including common terns, black-tailed godwits, redshank and lapwing. Unfortunately, many of these species and the habitats they depend on are at risk of being lost - that's where you come in!
Harbour meadows is a predominately grassland habitat that is home to an amazing array of insects, such as the rare cryptic woodwhite butterfly. This part of the reserve is not open to the public, so this is an exciting opportunity to enjoy a very special slice of nature.
