RSPB Team Member (Conservation Science - Marine Section)

Opportunity image

We are looking for a volunteer to join our Marine Conservation Science Team to help grow our capacity. This role is all about taking on a few tasks as part of an existing team that supports the RSPB operation. The tasks will vary depending on what support is needed, but this can range from undertaking research to contacting stakeholders. By opening our work to more volunteers in this way, it means we can scale up what we can achieve and do more for nature.

Volunteer tasks will vary greatly depending on the specific role, but it may include some of the following:

Attending team meetings and taking away small tasks. Undertaking research and contributing to scientific papers. Engaging with stakeholders. Creating news bulletins. Responding to volunteer or stakeholder enquiries. Monitoring and recording work on spreadsheets. This role will require conservation science skills, knowledge and experience but please note that we will offer full training and induction into this particular area of the business.

This is a rewarding role that offers the opportunity to support the RSPB in a big way. You'll find satisfaction in making a genuine contribution to nature conservation. You will learn all about how the RSPB works and gain experience working for an environmental charity.

We like to think we're a friendly and welcoming team, so you'll have the opportunity to make new friends too.
