Imagine a day without coffee and cake! Or a refreshing cup of tea. Our café volunteers understand the importance of a little break and help visitors to relax and refuel during their visit to RSPB Arne. We have different roles available, so you're bound to find something to suit. The café at Arne is focused on delivering healthy, organic snacks and if not baked in house are sourced locally from trusted organic suppliers.

BAKER/FOOD PREPARATION You will be behind the scenes in the kitchen however with our open style kitchen you'll still be able to see what is going on whilst preparing food. One day you could be baking as many scones as you can (think Bake-off without Paul and Pru judging) and another day cookies, or general food preparation . You will need to follow food hygiene, allergen and quality control procedures, but full training will be given in these. This role will really suit you if you love to cook.

SERVER/BARISTA You will be warmly welcoming people/taking orders /making teas and coffee and serving 'Grab and Go ' counter items eg tray bakes, scones, cakes and various types of savoury pasties and sausage rolls. And all with a smile. The barista role is great for someone who likes the smell of fresh coffee and it is also a great way to get training and experience that can help with a career in hospitality. It will particularly suit you if you like being around people as you will meet a lot of them in this role.
