We are looking for volunteers to join us at the RSPB St. Martins Office in Bedford and help us with our pin badge operations.

This role is about taking on a few tasks as part of an existing team that supports the RSPB fundraising efforts. The main tasks will include working from our St Martins office in Bedford to count and sort RSPB pin badges, so that we can create an accurate stock and redistribute these across our sites, online and through volunteers as needed.

Main skills required:

  • Good organisation and time management skills
  • Being able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic IT skills, like using Excel spreadsheets to record pin badge stock
  • Some understanding/knowledge of RSPB pin badges (desirable but not essential)

This is a short term opportunity (June to September 2024) that will suit someone who can access our office at Bedford, at least once a week during working hours. There is flexibility as to how many weeks you can commit to and how many hours you want to spend every week to help, which can be discussed and agreed with the team in advance.

We will offer full training and induction into this particular area of the business, as required.

This is a rewarding role that offers the opportunity to support the RSPB in a big way. You'll find satisfaction in making a genuine contribution to our fundraising operations that support nature conservation. You will learn all about how the RSPB works and gain experience working for an environmental charity.

We like to think we're a friendly and welcoming team, so you'll have the opportunity to make new friends too.
