Visitor Engagement Volunteer (On Reserves) (Guided walks leader at Frampton Marsh)

As a Guided Walks Leader you will help deliver our programme of events at the reserve, and potentially at our other reserve at Freiston Shore. A variety of events are run, including dawn chorus walks, half day birdwatching tours, sunset walks, and high tide wader walks. We are keen to broaden our repetoire, so candidates with additional skills (eg flora, butterflies, local history) would be especially welcome. Walks would either be led by yourself, or in partnership with another staff member or volunteer.

Full training and support will be provide for this role but you do need to be a ‘people person’ and have good communication skills. Wildlife identification skills are important too, though there may be some leeway for those who are keen and eager to learn.

This is not a role that necessarily has regularly scheduled sessions. Instead the volunteer would be given the programme of events and asked which they can assist with.

This is a really rewarding and enjoyable role. You will be working with a friendly team on a beautiful nature reserve, you will have the opportunity to make new friends and spend time outdoors. You will get to meet loads of new people in this role, enjoying conversation and helping people have a wonderful visit.

There is always the opportunity to learn new things and gain skills through volunteering, by working on a reserve, you'll naturally learn all about how nature reserves are managed and the wildlife that is found there.
