Visitor Engagement Family and Children Events (Visitor Engagement - Events / Ymgysylltu ag Ymwelwyr - Digwyddiadau (RSPB Conwy))
We're looking for enthusiastic and creative wildlife lovers to support our busy programme of family events at RSPB Conwy, and inspire the next generation to love nature. From pond dipping, bug hunting and bird watching, to hands-on crafts, storytelling and sleepouts - you'll have the opportunity to get involved in a wide variety of exciting events on our brilliant nature reserve!
We'd love to hear from people with a sense of adventure and fun, experience with children and good wildlife knowledge (although this can certainly be learnt "on the job"). We're especially looking for people who are available at weekends and during school holidays, when the majority of our family events take place.
You'll need to be a friendly and approachable people person to initiate a conversation with anyone and everyone, and share the reserve's wildlife with them. Good communication skills are key, as is an ability to enthuse and inspire children and young people. Some basic wildlife knowledge is desirable, but with regular attendance you are guaranteed to build on this very quickly. Aside from the events themselves, we are very happy to explore training opportunities for our volunteers in any areas that they wish to develop. And we'd love to hear your own ideas for events and activities to engage families too!
Does this sound like you? Then apply via the link, or get in touch for more details!
RSPB Conwy has over 100 fantastic volunteers in various roles on the reserve, without whom, we simply couldn't operate! By enrolling as a volunteer, you will be joining a huge family of like-minded people dedicated to giving nature a home. We recognise our volunteer's commitment with regular social evenings and get-togethers, as well as long-service awards and discounts too.
The RSPB is committed to making our organisation diverse and inclusive, and, as such, are keen to encourage applications from everyone, of all ethnic backgrounds, as well as those with disabilities.
We look forward to hearing from you!
