We are looking for a residential volunteer to join our small team on Oronsay in the beautiful Inner-Hebrides.

Spring is a very exciting time and you'll help us manage our dynamic nature reserve and working farm. This role may be particularly suitable for someone starting out on their career in conservation with the opportunity to build a wide range of new skills.

We will be lambing our flock of native Scottish blackface and Hebridean ewes whilst also calving 40 pedigree Luing cattle during this period, there will be opportunity to develop your capabilities working with livestock. Ecological surveys of our breeding waders will be another element on which you can hone your conservation skills.

Accommodation comes in the form of a cottage on the reserve - which may be shared with RSPB staff during your stay.

Oronsay is a remote island, we have tidal access to neighbouring Colonsay which has a small shop and some amenities. Ferry from Oban which is 2 hours 20 minutes.

You will need to have a positive outlook, flexibility and be an active team player to be successful in this role.

May be suitable for a couple, this has worked well in the past.
