Event Helper (Creative People!)
Are you creative, enthusiastic and love wildlife? We're looking for creative volunteers to design and make artwork for our WildLights Lantern Trail events, illuminated art trails which celebrate the wildlife and nature living in the Dearne Valley. You could have willow sculpture making skills already or come with bags of enthusiasm and willingness to learn/ give it a go!
In the Creative Volunteer role, you might:
Help lead craft workshops for families/ at community groups
Design and create sculptures/ costumes/ pieces for art for events
Could help on the day, puppeteering sculptures or running crafts
Share your ideas for crafts/ artwork during events
Interact with visitors of all ages
The creative team meets twice a week (Weds and Sunday afternoons) to make artwork throughout the year and also volunteer at events. How often you volunteer and when is up to you, and flexible around your other commitments, you might come every week, or just occasionally for events, or even get creative at home, taking materials from the site and staying in touch via the WhatsApp group.
This role would be suitable for 16-18 year olds and families (adults and children volunteering together).
The RSPB is committed to making our organisation diverse and inclusive, and, as such, are keen to encourage applications from everyone, of all ethnic backgrounds, as well as those with disabilities. We believe volunteering shouldn’t leave you out of pocket, so will reimburse travel expenses. We look forward to hearing from you!
