Our volunteers are the lifeblood of what we do. As our Volunteer Coordinator, you’ll help build a happy, motivated and well supported volunteer team that brings our Belfast Window on Wildlife Reserve to life. We are looking for someone that believes in the power of people, thrives in a team environment, and wants to help others feel valued and inspired while surrounded by nature.

What you will be doing

  • Managing the volunteer rota and ensuring everyone knows where they’re needed
  • Organising volunteer training and induction sessions
  • Helping to create induction packs for new starters
  • Welcoming and inducting new volunteers so they feel supported from day one
  • Being a friendly face on site a few days each week
  • Communicating with the team through newsletters and updates
  • Helping to organise volunteer taster days and social events
  • Working closely with the team to ensure volunteers feel heard, happy and recognised
  • Supporting the team in enhancing the visitor experience

The Skills you will need

You don’t need to be an expert – we’ll provide all the training! But you’ll be a great fit if you:

  • Are warm, confident communicator who enjoys working with people
  • Are organised and good at juggling multiple tasks
  • Love helping others grow and feel supported
  • Are passionate about nature, conservation, and the community
  • Can give a few days a week at the reserve to stay connected with the team
