Residential on Reserve (Less than 4 weeks) (South Stack Visitor Engagement)
Available from 27 March 2026 to 30 October 2026
Reserve:
South Stack is an ideal reserve to watch seabirds and choughs, with high cliffs, caves and offshore stacks, backed by 316ha/780 acres of heathland (Holyhead Mountain and Penrhosfeilw Common), and 43ha of coastal grass pasture. The RSPB Visitor Hub is located at the heart of the site and provides retail and catering facilities for around 185,000 visitors annually. Ellin's Tower observatory, is situated on the cliff edge overlooking the sea cliffs and auk colonies.
Why We Want You:
In our Visitor Hub, you will be welcoming customers and ensuring they make the most from their visit by letting them know what they can see on the reserve and directing them to points of interest. It’s a great way to engage with visitors and share your passion for nature and the RSPB.
There is a viewing area at Ellin's Tower, with binoculars and telescopes. You will be talking to visitors about wildlife on the reserve, walking routes and providing further assistance as required. At busy times, you will also be directing cars to park sensibly.
Please note volunteer placements are for a minimum of one week and the usual arrival/departure day is Friday. Your first day volunteering will be on Saturday and your last day will be on Thursday.
What’s In It For You:

Please do not tick 'willing to share' unless you are applying as a couple.
