Retail Volunteer (RSPB Darts Farm)

Do you enjoy meeting people and shops with lovely things?

Our Darts Farm retail volunteers love making visitors welcome in our shop and helping them choose from the delightful array of RSPB products.

What’s involved? The role is varied so there will always be something you enjoy...

• Providing a warm welcome to our visitors.
• Help with enquiries about our products.
• Progressing sales through the till.
• Helping with stock taking and refilling the shelves.
• Keeping the shop looking clean and inviting.

We would ideally like your help once a week, but we are flexible and you can choose a half day slot on our rota to fit in around your other commitments.

This role will particularly suit you if you...

• Love meeting people and are keen to give each customer the best experience.
• Enjoy learning about our stock and are enthusiastic in telling customers about it (this doesn’t have to include binoculars and telescopes unless you want to specialise in this!).
• Are confident in handling money and sales transactions (training will be given).
• Want to support the RSPB by generating extra income.

• Make new friends as you become part of the retail team. We are a lovely bunch!
• Develop your customer service skills and experience.
• Know that you’re doing something to help support the work of saving wildlife.

You’ll also be volunteering in a lovely light and airy space looking out over Bowling Green Marsh and our birdfeeders are constantly busy with birds. There is always something to see outside our enormous shop window!

There is plenty of free parking and the number 57 bus (between Exeter & Exmouth) stops right outside Darts Farm. We can cover the cost of you getting here too.

A full induction to the role will be given, as well as training in operating the till and there is always someone around to give help or guidance if you need. We’re a very supportive team and you will be made to feel very welcome.
