Community Volunteer (Wildlife Friendly Garden Volunteering at Western General Hospital)

We are looking for volunteers to help our work at the Western General Hospital. We are working as part of the NHS Lothian Charity's Green Health Program to enhance the biodiversity of the hospital grounds. Recognising the significant role that nature plays in improving physical and mental health, this works seeks to use the natural environment as an asset for human health as well as wildlife.

As volunteer you will work as part of a team carrying out practical tasks in the hospital grounds including:

Clearing vegetation Laying wood chip for path maintenance Planting wildflower plug plants Creating signage about the wildlife value of different wildflowers If you enjoy being outdoors, meeting new people and hands on conservation work, then this role could be the perfect opportunity for you.
