Surveyor (Not on a Reserve) (Bird ID Surveying - TWIG Elan Valley Project)

Opportunity image

We need volunteers on a series of dates from 10am-3pm. We will be doing a bird ID and point count survey session.

This is a one-off volunteer day, assisting with a collaborative project in the Elan Valley, near Rhayader in Mid Wales. The woodlands here are internationally important for their rare Lichen and Bryophyte species. They are also important for woodland specialist bird species such as Pied Flycatcher and Wood Warbler. Unfortunately, these habitats are fragmented and degraded, so the aim of this project is to connect and restore the existing woodland.

Good physical fitness, clothing suitable for the elements and an adventurous attitude will be required. Travel expenses can be reimbursed (up to a 25 mile radius).
